I made a few cards with my scraps. Been doing more of that lately, a great way to use up my stash.

Bella Blvd - Sketch!

It's almost the weekend!!! I am up on the Bella Blvd blog today with my last assignment as a DT member, using a fun PageMaps sketch!

I used a decent mix of the new Bella Blvd collections on this page - Campout, Star Student and Color Chaos:

I love a good grid, it really does help organize my creative chaotic way of scrapping. I can still get all the goodies in that I like to use without it feeling a little cluttered.

I added in tons of new and old chipboard on this page, along with some Clear Cuts and Invisibles in replacement of patterned paper. You can't even tell that small cloud piece is a thicker clear sheet, but it is and you can sew through it perfectly ;)

Love the new chipboard alpha style too, mixed with the previous clean version - a good way to mix the two fonts together with some alpha stickers. My Lucas (in the photo) picked the title. I could use a few more # chipboard pieces.

Bella Blvd - new Bella Buzz is out!

The spring Bella Buzz is now out and I have a page featured in this issue! :)

Katie Rose and I were tasked to use the following on a layout for the newsletter:
the Simply Spring collection
3 different colored clear cuts
Bella Bows

Here is my take on it:

I really wanted to use the clear cuts as the "paper" for my page, and accent with the Simply Spring collection. I used both stickers and paper strips from the collection to divide the page a little.

I added in some fun large Enamel Dots from Bella to the Clear Cuts in a few different places. I LOVE these dots, I only have a couple colors and really could use a zillion in all the colors!

Bella Blvd - Glitter!

I am up on the Bella Blvd blog today and we are talking Trends - Glitter to be specific.


When I was given this assignment and theme, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I have been toying with the idea of making a gold polka dot paper with my Cameo and this was the perfect time to do that.

Bella Blvd took most of the work out of it for me, as I just needed to add glitter to the gold confetti Clear Cut transparency. I simply measured the dots on the transparency and drew a circle slightly larger in my Silhouette software. I cut double sided adhesive out and adhered them to random dots on the Clear Cut and sprinkled with gold glitter.

Here is the result:

It is really tough to take a fantastic photo of the transparencies - so my apologies for the glare on the bottom half of the page.

 

I wanted to add more color instead of using just black and white and the gold, so I attempted to add in some yellow and pink to the mix, and added in some of the fun new epoxy dots that came out at CHA. I need more of them!

Bella Blvd Altered Mirror

Hello hello!! (is anyone out there).. I am stopping by the blog today to quickly share a fun and easy project using the new Bella Blvd Clear Cuts and Invisibles.

If you haven't had a chance to check these out yet, the previews are up on the Bella Blvd blog and some of our DT have started showing projects using them!

The Clear Cuts are transparencies and Invisibles are a thicker plastic - you can punch these but they can't be cut in a electronic die cut machine - trust me on that one ;)

I decided to make this fun mirror for my daughter's room, using both the Clear Cuts and Invisibles. I did run the Clear Cuts through my Cameo and it cut nicely on the chipboard setting... and the Invisibles were punched with my Stampin' Up flower punch.

I did some cutting on my Cameo to make the flower centers and added some brads and new Bella Blvd epoxy dots to the frame to embellish as well.

The flowers were layered with dimensional foam adhesive and simply adhered with glue dots to complete! It's pretty cute sitting in my daughter's room on an easel. We opted for that instead of hanging it low enough for her to see into :)

Bella Blvd resolutions

It's almost Christmas!!! and 2015 is right around the corner.

Over on the Bella Blvd blog last week, we were challenged to scrap about new year resolutions. Truth is - I completely SUCK at resolutions. I usually give up early on, so I am not making any this year. Nothing specfic anyway. Just be a better version of me.

2014 was not a fantastic year by any means, we can all "do" better and be better people, I think that is what I want to focus on more this upcoming year. Remove all drama from my life - and those causing it!

Here is the page I created for this challenge:

I started with one of the Classic Calendars papers and went from there filling in the "days" on the calendar with different papers and stitching it all together.

I added in a diecut title and some journaling printed on vellum as the background is pretty busy, like me :)

Bella Blvd - Must be Santa

6 more sleeps!!! It is almost Christmas... and I am not 100% prepared. Still have lots of gifts to wrap, and that takes a lot of time. Plus, throw in some CHA assignments and that makes for a busy lady!

I am here on the blog to share a holiday page I did for the Bella Blvd blog yesterday, based on a cool Pinterest image!

Here is the image:

 

I loved the planks on the image and decided to mimic that by using paper instead to create a tree on my page. Here is what I came up with:

I layered quite a bit of the Bella Blvd Christmas Cheer papers, along with some stickers and epoxy dots too. 

I finished the page with a diecut title - leftover from my confetti pocket page from last month's assignment!

Bella Blvd - Confetti Pockets

Hello! Today I have a page up on the Bella Blvd blog - we were tasked to use confetti pockets on our pages and this is mine!

I created my pocket by cutting the Santa word from Bella Blvd patterned paper and then backing it with vellum. I added a piece of white cardstock behind it, adhering down only 3 of the edges. I cut lots of confetti from various Bella Blvd. papers and added them to my pocket!

You can see that once the confetti was in place, I stitched around my title/pocket to keep everything in place.

I finished off the page with a few Bella Blvd Paper Pieces and stickers.. and voila! done :)

Hope you are starting to get your holiday preparations on... our tree is going up next weekend. I can't believe it is almost Christmas !

Bella Fussy cut words

Hello hello!!! It is hard to believe that it is already mid-November. I am usually ahead of the shopping curve by this time, but sadly this year, I am behind the times.

I feel overwhelmed this time of year - it's so busy with the kids activities, shopping and CHA is around the corner too! That makes for a busy Nicole.

I am stopping by to share a page I made for the Bella Blvd blog today. We were challenged to "fussy cut words from one of the paper sheets". Bella Blvd has some super fun papers with words on the backside. I chose to use the Christmas Cheer line to create this page, and used a lot of the holiday words on one of the papers.

It is a bit of work, but I grabbed my one sheet of paper and a pair of scissors and got to work. I sat in front of the TV watching one of my PVR'd shows and started cutting out different words in differing colors too. I had the idea in my head to create a tree with the words, as the size of the text varies and I thought it would be something different to do!

I found I spent more time choosing what words to cut, than the actual cutting of them! lol Anyways, from there, I added a layered photo mat to the other side of my page - tried to keep it simple as the word tree is a tad busy. Love the little label style stickers from Bella Blvd as they are perfect to tuck behind photos or photo mats.

Bella Blvd - PL inspired page!

Hey blog readers .. knock knock.. anyone out there?? lol I am just popping in today to share a Project Life inspired page.

 While I don’t do PL spreads, I love the idea of documenting the everyday. I chose some random everyday photos I had in my ever growing stack and added journaling about just some of the things we do every week that keeps our family busy.

I added a large title and lots of circular embellishments to finish the page off.

Bella Blvd pinspiration!

Good morning!! I am off for a week to Las Vegas with my husband and some friends - YAY!!! Before I go, I wanted to share with you a Pinterest inspired project I did for Bella Blvd. this week.

You have to head over to the blog to see the original Pinterest piece - but it was full of black and white and some pops of color... so I used that to create this page!

If you check out the pinterest piece on the Bella blog, you will see that I used the placement of the decor pieces as a sketch for my page. I do this often when coming up with backgrounds for pages, etc.

I used some teal mist and painted it onto the top area of the cardstock base to add a little color before adding my title, using a paper piece from Bella Blvd.

I tried to keep the neutral theme using mostly black and white and just a few pops of color - pink and teal.

I'll be back in a few days with a couple more projects and Cocoa Daisy November kit sneaks! Stay tuned :)
