October Afternoon - Surf City

Happy Friday!!

It is my last GDT post over on the October Afternoon blog and I would like to share it with you today. I used a ton of OA products on this page, I just couldn't help myself.

I started this page with a simple grid along the right side of the page and layered several different patterns in each grid shape. I stitched it all down and then added my photos, some label stickers and journalling from my computer. My handwriting stinks !!

You can see that I fussy cut that floral OA paper and used it in a few places on my page. I have been hoarding that one for years people . Years. Why o why do I not use things!! I added some stitched buttons from my OA stash and that was that! If you were kind enough to stop by the October Afternoon blog this month to comment on my posts - thank you so much, I so appreciate it!

Have a great weekend! Can you believe it is almost March?? yikes, where is this year going...

October Afternoon - Friends

Good morning and TGIF!!! I am excited about today's project share.

I created it for my GDT over on the October Afternoon blog this month and it is one of my favorite pages lately for a few reasons. Here is the project:

I admit, I mostly scrap pages that have 1-2 photos on them. I know the mass of people don't do that. That is okay. But, I am also excited in a scrappy nerdlike way, when I can get more than 1-2 photos on my page without it feeling cluttered. I chose stole these photos of my online buddies from their facebook pages and scrapped them. Sneaky Sneaky, but had to be done. I have a feeling they wont' mind :)

I hand cut a simple title from some scraps of paper and added them under my photos, mixing up the colors I used on the page.

After I popped the photos with dimensional foam adhesive, I seriously grabbed my scrap pile of October Afternoon papers and got to work. I cut 1/2" strips of paper and started at the bottom of the page and worked in rows, adding strips of paper, mixing the color and patterns. Now that I see my page here, it is crooked!!! YIKES? that is embarrasing:(

At any rate, it is what it is now right!? Once I had all the strips placed, I sewed them down the middle and then started to add co-ordinating embellishments to some of the blocks - buttons, labels, pop drops, etc. You get the drill.

It is one of my favorite pages for a few reasons... first, because I scrapped photos of good friends I rarely get to see, and it is scrapped in my weird and quirky way using papers that I love. Paper can really go a long way folks. Believe in it :) With that weirdness, I wish you a happy weekend! Please do stop by the October Afternoon blog and say hi please?

October Afternoon - Days Like These

It's Friday and so I am back to share another page for my GDT this month for October Afternoon!

Today's page is simple with a photo taken last fall in Vegas with my hubby using our selfie stick :) Best invention ever. Just sayin'

I used mainly the Saturday Mornings collection for this page, as well as a cut file from the Silhouette Design Store that I love. I chose to have it fill one half of my page and create a large photo area to the right of it.

You can see that I also cut the "life" from the golen yellow paper in the Saturday Mornings collection and layered it over the same title. I used some OA chipboard hearts and labels on the top of my page, and some stamping with a Snapshots roller stamp. Love the fun little sentiments on each roll :)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today - I would really appreciate it if you could stop by the October Afternoon blog HERE and let me know what you think of today's project! Thanks :) I have the best blog readers !

October Afternoon Guest Designer!

Happy Friday!!

Today is a good day, for a few reasons.

1) I am off work today. I work full time outside the home and having a few flex days off per month allows me to get some non-interrupted scrappy time in all day :)

2) My talented friend Jody (she is an amazing sewing, scrapbooker and card maker - check out her blog) is coming over to play with paper later tonight, so that makes me happy :)

3) I am guesting over on the October Afternoon blog all month!! YAY! I have loved October Afternoon forever and I was so honoured to be asked to contribute this month.

Today, I wanted to share with you my very first project that I made for the announcement today. I was sent the new Saturday Mornings collection, but seriously pulled out all my October Afternoon that I have been hoarding for years.

I seem to always buy something from one October Afternoon collection or another and just don't make time to use it like I should. Anyway, here is my first page:

You can see I used my trusty Cameo to cut my title from white cardstock and lined the back with different patterned papers from the Saturday Mornings collection. The whole thing was popped up with some dimensional foam adhesive straight onto the woodgrain background paper. Such a pretty woodgrain paper and perfect neutral for a background with lots of patterns going on like this one.

I felt the need for some piecharts, mostly cause I love them :) So, I used small bits of paper from the new and older lines to create each piechart. I also used lots of October Afternoon stickers, Pop Drops enamel shapes and Sprinkler mist around my page in the empty areas.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! I would REALLY appreciate it if you would pop on over to the October Afternoon blog every Friday this month and leave a comment on my projects!?

Pretty please :) Thanks so much!
