Fancy Pants + some sketches!

I was asked to contribute a couple sketches for a great Canadian online store called
Let's Capture Our Memories. I used to be part of their design team a few years ago so I happily said yes!

I created a layout sketch and this co-ordinating card sketch.

Here was the card that I made with this sketch, using some of my Fancy Pants Summer Sun (I really love this collection).

I started with this type written "paper". Basically this is a paper I made by simply typing out text over and over in Word and printed onto plain white cardstock. I added some watercolor red/pinks to it and then some black mist droplets too.

Once that was all dry, I layered it over some papers from the Fancy Pants Summer Sun collection, and a leftover triangle I had diecut out of some vellum in my stash. I stamped a Technique Tuesday sentiment and added that over a chipboard heart from my Fancy Pants Wood Veneers.

I really love how that typewritten paper turned out and will do that again for sure!

Next up is the layout sketch I created!

As you can see, it is a pretty basic sketch. The fun parts are all around the outer edge of the page. This is really up to your own creativity! I have a few different ideas for that outer edge, but here is what I came up with this time.

(oh! and can you see that I typed my name wrong on the sketch ! DUH)

I used the Fancy Pants Designs Making Waves collection for this page - I used the large alphas for my title and started with a navy paper from the collection. I added some trimmed down white cardstock and then went  crazy trimming down strips of the Making Waves collection for around the edge. Once I had them all in place, I just added a bunch of stitching around the edge and then finished off the page with some die cuts, wood veneers and Fancy Pants sequins.

Look how awesome the large title letters are ! I love that you get a mix of solid and prints in the package :)

That's it for me today! I hope you will check out what the Let's Capture Our Memories team did with these sketches!

Fancy Pants Summer Sun + Let's Capture Our Memories!

Just stopping in to share a page and card that I made this month using some sketches I created for a great Canadian website - Let's Capture Our Memories! If you play along with the sketch challenge, you can win a GC to the store! (find all  the details HERE)

I decided to use one of the fun new collections from Fancy Pants to create both my layout and card. Here are the sketches I created - one for a layout and a similar one for a card.

Now, here are the projects I completed using them:

I love the big alphas and combined them with the Summer cut file word from my store Just Nick

Here is the card I made using up some simple scraps from my Summer Sun scraps and a Technique Tuesday stamp from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by!

Make sure to join in on the sketch fun on the Let's Capture Our Memories blog HERE

Summer Sun with Fancy Pants!

Good morning!! I am popping in to share a project I made this month using the new Fancy Pants Designs collection - Summer Sun! I love the pretty colors in this collection - they scream summer and are pretty girly, which I love :)

I used a lot of the Summer Sun brag cards for this page and layered them on a slight angle along with tiny tags and strips of paper from the collection. I kept it all pretty simple and finished it off with the fun oversized letters for my title.

That's it for me today! Summer is here and I am trying to enjoy the sun and outdoors more now that my kids are officially done all their activities and school is out tomorrow !

Fancy Pants Making Waves collection!

Really quickly popping in today to share a page I made using the fun and summery Making Waves collection by Fancy Pants Designs.

I love the rich combination of colors in the collection and thought they would look cool with this photo I took in Florida last summer

You can see that I used a lot of little bits of this collection to back this diecut from my JustNick store (Rocky Road)

I attempted a bit of an ombre thing, going dark on top to lighter on the bottom of the page with a thing band of paper from the Summer Sun collection, also by Fancy Pants Designs.

That's it for me today!  I have another super simple Fancy Pants project to share with you this week, along with a process video too! Stay tuned :)

June Hip Kits!

The June Hip Kit Club kits arrived on my doorstep last week and I dove right in! There are lots of summery items in the kits and perfect for some of my photos from Disney last year.

I created this page using the June kits:

I love the Crate Paper frames in the kit and used them to create a bit of pattern on my page. I added in one of the PL cards designed by DT member Kim Watson too!

Stay tuned for another freebie for those who are members of the Hip Kit Club Facebook group - these + signs are part of that freebie designed by me :)

That's it for me today! I am off to watch some baseball playoffs all weekend! Enjoy some sun :)

Fancy Pants - Must be Love

So. Real story. About a month or so ago, I decided to remove photos from old layouts.

Yes this is true.

I had at least 10 pizza boxes sitting in our bedroom with layouts in side, stacked almost to the top of my hubby's dresser. This pile had been bothering me for far too long, so I opened the untouched boxes and went to town.

I left some layouts as they were, but I would say that I took off photos from at least 25% of the pages, kept 10% of the pages and tossed the rest.

My guidelines were simple:
1) Did I have a digital copy of this photo?
2) Did I think I captured that memory?
3) Did I just plain like that page?

At any rate, now I have a bag of unscrapped photos that I love. I scrapped a few on this page here using the Flutter collection by Fancy Pants Designs. Such a pretty collection and the mix of pink with teal is perfect for these photos of my two youngest playing together.

I kept the page pretty simple. I love these photos and still remember the giggles from Lucas when Addy popped him in the nose while they were lying on the floor. A total fun carefree moment. I love the pops of gold in the Label Pack that goes with the Flutter collection. Great for layering on the strips here.

I love the almost ombre effect on this page that was easily done with just some papers from the collection. Add a few pops of gold and you are... well, golden :) Stop by the Fancy Pants Designs blog for lots of inspiration with Flutter and the three other new 2015 collections!

Let me take a selfie - Fancy Pants

May is already here - can you believe it!! I think it is time to start scrapping some of my photos from last summer. The new Office Suite collection by Fancy Pants Designs is great for summer photos !

A new addition to the Fancy Pants Designs collection is the new Instapacks - there are fun small mini albums with a complete diecut or label pack to add to it! The come with frames and basically everything you need to complete a mini album fast! I chose to use the embellies to layer on my pages, the frames and a bunch of die cut shapes.

How pretty are the gold accents right? I love it when products are made to make your life easier! To check out the entire Fancy Pants Designs collection, check it all out on their website HERE

Nerd Alert! - Fancy Pants Designs

Good morning and TGIF!!! I am headed to a weekend crop this weekend but wanted to share a fun page I made using the new Office Suite collection by Fancy Pants Designs!

What can I say about this collection - I LOVE the bright patterns - like this black/white paper - mixed with soft yellow, pink and mint! Yes, mint. I cannot get enough mint green!

I used some 12x12 sheets of paper, along with my 6x6 paper pad and lots of diecut tags for this page. The paper pad makes it really easy to just snip off different papers and add them together, without all the bulk (and waste) of lots of piled high layers.

In addition to the papers, I used some of these fun mixed alpha letters from the Flutter collection by Fancy Pants for my title. I did add some dimensional foam adhesive to the back so they popped off the page a little. I love the fun mixed title and the retro/vintage feel of the letters.

If you haven't seen Office Suite in person, you really are missing out - I love the new textured papers and just the thickness of the weight of the paper too. Make sure you ask your LSS for it, or snag some from Scrapbook.com or A Cherry On Top!

Fancy Pants Office Suite Cards!

I am just getting ready to attend a weekend crop and teach a class but thought I would stop in to share some quick and easy cards I made with the Fancy Pants Designs Office Suite collection.

I really love the soft floral paper in the collection and used that as inspiration for this card. I really wanted to pull a bunch of patterns on the card, and so I reverted to my typical pie chart.  :)

I added some stitching and a stamped sentiment and a few brads/enamel dots and I was done!  I love a super simple and easy card that I could easily duplicate for different occasions.

Once of my other favorite patterns in this collection is this pink + sign paper! I love the elephant diecut too and wanted to use that as a baby card! I added some quick stitching and a stamp from my stash for the sentiment.

You can really see the new texture on the Fancy Pants papers - on this pink paper below - it's a really great thicker, textured paper!

That's it for me today!

Kind heart, fierce mind- Fancy Pants

Good morning!!! It has been such a whirlwind around our house lately. My grandmother passed about 2 weeks ago and it has really made me think about how life really does pass you by sometimes.

I grabbed the Fancy Pants collection Flutter and this photo of my son and got to work. Now, the Flutter collection IS pretty girly. There are lots of pink patterns...but there is a great masculine side to it too! I gravitated to those colors for this page about my oldest son.

See, lots of teal, navy and gold - with some soft touches of pink intertwined make for a masculine page. I added some Fancy Pants cork star embellishments along with buttons, stickers and a journaling card too for my title.

Those cork stars are great with a couple stickers on the centres to add a touch of colour. I know that this collection is shipping - if you haven't seen it in your local LSS = please ask for it, or you can snag some at Scrapbook.com, My Scraps and More and A Cherry On Top too!

Fancy Pants Flutter - Beautiful You

Good morning!! Last week I shared a page with you using the new Fancy Pants Office Suite Colletion and today, I have one with another new collection - Flutter. This collection is girly, with pinks, blush, yellow gold and even teal!

I created this page about my daughter with some punched circles and my watercolors. I am definitely not a watercolor expert, but I am having fun playing around with them :)

You can see that I drew pencial lines for cirlces and then added the watercolors to my white cardstock... once it was dry, I added the circles and machine stitching. Yes, I did a poor job of the pencil lines... so my public service announcement for today is to draw them LIGHTLY!! You can thank me later ;)

I finished off my page with a diecut from the collection pack and a few enamel dots from my stash!

Fancy Pants - Dreamers Gotta Dream

Hello Scrappers :) I have been playing around with the all new Office Suite collection by Fancy Pants Designs this week and here is a page I made with it :

I just love the mix of pink, yellow and mint with a huge pop of black! I love black in patterned papers, and usually you find it in a stripe, but not a lot else. This collection has a chevron and polka dots which I love!
There are some great gold foil diecuts in the collection too - in the Instapack, Diecut Ephemera pack, and I love the fun + and * signs which I used on this page.

Fancy Pants - new Office Suite!

Hello hello! I am here today to share with you a page using some NEW Fancy Pants Designs Office Suite collection!

This line is so pretty it is crazy. I love the green/yellow/peach and black color combo! Oh and did I mention the pops of gold too?? Really fun and versatile. I can see doing so many pages with it!

Here is what I made:

There are some fun gold diecut elements as well as Vellum paper in this collection! I used some gold + signs on the bottom of the page here.

I just love the larger diecut letters in the collection - I added some foam adhesive behind my letters on the page. I kept the page pretty simple, by addding in just a little stitching and some new chipboard embellishements!

new Fancy Pants Flutter!

How was your weekend?? Mine flew by, the boys both were in a soccer tournament, so that means 6 soccer games for us + indoor baseball spring training and 2 skating lessons too. I feel a bit like a taxi driver today :)

I am here to share with you a page I made using the new Fancy Pants Designs Flutter collection!! It is so pretty and a lot fun, I was very inspired by the fun colors, patterns and new textured papers!! they are so thick and textured, they are amazing.

Here's my page:

Lots of fun colors right? I adore that teal and pink combo... mixed with a bunch of gold and cream too. I punched several circles out of the paper pad and layered together and stitched. The new collections both have big new diecut letters, but I chose to hand cut my title from the same patterns.

That's it for me today! I hope you enjoyed a nice Valentine's day with your lovey :)
