October Hip Kit Club kits!

Good morning! It's a crisp fall day here in Canada, the temperatures are just starting to drop and we have been really quite lucky. Weather like this hasn't happened in a long time!

I am popping in today to share a page I made using the October Hip Kit Club kits! They are full of Pink Paislee, Amy Tangerine and Pebbles Inc. I adore the coral and reds mixed with black and mint/teal in the kit this month!

I used some of the free cut files (available when you register on the Hip Kit Club site)  for this page. I started with this title "fall" and then used part of a background cut file for the bottom of my page. I added in lots of little bits of embellishments from the kit - wood veneer, puffy stickers and paper clips.

Voila - (or WALA as my daughter says) my layout is complete!

Hip Kit Club September kits!

I have one last project to share using the September Hip Kits Club kits!

I used this free cut file I created for the Hip Kit Club (check out their website, register and download)

I added the pink background paper from my stash and layered it behind the cut file that was added over some white and gray cardstocks.

I trimmed down the cut apart sheet in the kit by Amy Tangerine and layered the tops of the cards along the top edge of the layout, adding some watercolour paints behind the cut out words.

I also used the leftover flowers from the cut file and added them to the center of most of the open pieces, adding some foam adhesive to the back and a small enamel dot to the centers.

I will be back next weekend with another Hip Kit Club project, using the fun fall October kits!

September Hip Kits!

YAY!  It's the weekend again, which means it's my turn on the blog with a new project using the September Hip Kits!


 

 I really love that fun purple/pink striped Dear Lizzy paper in the kits and wanted to use it BUT it was too much for me to use the whole page. I trimmed it down a bit and started layering across my page with different strips of papers from the kits. I added a "hello" diecut tab behind the photo and then some of the Dear Lizzy rub ons to the empty areas.

 

 I finished off the page by adding a bunch of the Dear Lizzy rub ons across the other side of the page to carry the design straight across, adding some chipboard hearts and wood buttons from the kit too.

Hip Kit Club - cards!

Good morning!! I am always happy to be on the blog bright and early on the weekend - this week I have a couple cards made with the September Hip Kit Club kits! I really wanted to use some of the yellow Dylusions paint from the color add-on and decided I would try to add some splashes of color to some quick cards!

 

 I simply added some swipes of yellow paint to the cards where I wanted the sentiments to be placed. I ended up adding a little more around the edges to balance out the color a bit.

   

On this first card, I added the paint over part of a messed up rub on and it helps hide my boo boo a bit :)

 This cards is all about color ! I wanted to use the balloons from the Amy Tangerine Rise  and Shine Ephemera pack and layered it over some dry paint with a stamped sentiment from my stash.

 

 I fell in love withe the kraft and woodgrain papers in the kits this month and used them on all my cards too. I diecut a pattern from my cut file store (Pie Chart Lace) and added some papers to the back side with papers from the kits, adding the whole thing with foam adhesive to the kraft card base.

 

 On this last card, I used all my leftovers, adding in some torn washi tape from the booklet and a floral diecut that I cut in half tucked under a strip of woodgrain paper.

Hip Kit Club - September kits!

hello hello!!! Just sharing a quick weekend project using the September Hip Kits!!! LOVE this month's kits - they are truly awesome and packed with NEW goodies! I love not having to wait for good stuff in the kits each month.

Here is the first page I made with the kit and the Funky Rectangles Diecut from my digital cut file store JustNick. It is one of my favorites! I cut it out with my new Artistic Edge diecut machine by Janome - so quick to cut on!!! (more on this coming )

I love the combination of the alphas in this month's kits and used a mixture of wood veneers, puffy alphas and cork - oh, man I love those cork alphas!!

The kit also comes with some fun Amy Tangerine Wood slice embellishments. I used one here and added some of the Dear Lizzy Rub ons in the kit directly to them! SO easy, although you can see I did rub a little too hard ;) Will remember that for next time.

Hip Kit Club + a cut file

Just stopping by the blog quickly today to share a project I made for the Hip Kit Club blog this weekend using the April kits and one of my JustNick cut files !

I love all the girly colors in the April Hip kits and couldn't toss any of my scraps out! I used a lot to fill in the Crazy Daisy cut file from my store (link below)

 

I just got working on the May kits and am basically in love with them!!!  Will be back next weekend with a project (and hopefully a process video too).

My Scraps and More GDT + a sketch!

Hey everyone! I am stopping in to kick off the weekend with a sketch !

I am guesting over on the My Scraps and More site today and created this sketch to use:

I really am into using up my 6x6 paper pad stash - I am a collecter of all things paper and so I have *ahem* just more than a few... probably at least 20 if I had to guess... anyway, I am on a mission to decrease that stash asap! Here is the page I created using a Teresa Collins paper pad I had picked up at some point last year. Love the mint, coral and gold color combo!

I simply pop dotted my photo over tons of little random strips of paper from the paper pad, tucking in little pieces here and there and stitching the whole thing down.

I finished off the page with a few rub ons, some mist, brads, epozy butons and wood veneers from my stash... a mix of Heidi Swapp and Teresa Collins again.

SCT May freebie

Good morning!! How was your weekend? Did you get in scrapbooking done on National Scrapbook Day? I was out of town at a charity crop about 3 hours away and managed to get a lot accomplished!

Today, I am sharing the May cut file freebie for Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine! It's all about the boys in your life... I asked what people wanted to see in the freebies and "boy" was what I heard!

This was approved by my 11 yr old very trendy son.... so we know it is okay to use on pages for all ages :)

there are lots of fun words in this freebie, along with interesting boy elements. I used a lot of the words to create part of the title area for my page and lots of Amy Tangerine Plus One too!

Cocoa Daisy GDT!

Hey everyone! I am super excited to be guesting over at Cocoa Daisy in April !

I had a blast with the April kit Hint of Sunshine and wanted to share two projects that I made with this kit.

The main kit is full of rich navy, bright yellow and pops of green and shimmery gold. I also picked up a couple of the add-ons to go with the main kit when creating my projects.



One of the fun things about the Cocoa Daisy kits are the exclusive papers!! Yes, papers - that cork/white striped paper is one of the exclusives and my favorite :) I cut some simple squares and tilted them to create this pattern on the page.

 I added a title and embellies using the Prism add-on for this month:

I clipped the stems off the Studio Calico leaves and made them into a heart shape with a couple small staples

The main kit came with this funky gold/coppery glitter and I used a chevron/arrow stamp with some glue and then sprinkled on the glitter over top to create a slightly glittery package :)

I also created this page, using the Day In The Life add-on - Dewdrop . I just adore the new Jillibean Soup mini placemats and knew I wanted to do a grid style page with them:

I used the main kit's exclusive stamp with some gold embossing powder over the Amy Tangerine paper in the Patterned Paper add-on this month. Paired with a few Doodlebug chevron arrows in an ombre like pattern on the bottom row.

I fancied up my Jillibean Soup mini placemats in a couple really simple ways. First, I backed the camera shape with patterned paper from the kit and add-ons and then stitched around the edges with gold thread. For the title work, I glittered up just the STORY part of the card with that fun gold, starry glitter:

Oh, how I LOVE that glitter!!!

I tied in more glittery loveliness with the sequin linen thread from the main kit, attaching some leaves and the gold mini clothespins from the main kit.

Instagram + Polaroid tutorial!

I have a quick tutorial up on the Scrapbook & Cards Today blog on how to make your own Instagram/Polaroids using paper :)

Here is the layout I created for this tutorial:

 I used the same basic design of the page that I shared yesterday, but used a different paper collection (6x6 paper pad again) and made it more masuline with a woodgrain background and switched up the squares for circles - and made them into pie charts :)

 I added my own bits to the paper polaroid frame, some cut pieces from patterned paper and some washi tape all stitched onto the frame.

I added a lot of stitching to the pie charts and layers under my photo.

Ready, Set, GO!

I was SUPER excited (and still am) to be asked by Paige Evans to be a GDT over at the
American Crafts blog for this week!

I was sent the new Amy Tangerine - Ready, Set, GO collection to work with and here are a few projects I came up with for the post: (sorry, tons of photos)

a couple close up shots for you of the layering:

 I cut a circle pattern I had made with my Cameo and placed a few pieces of the paper from the 6x6 paper pad in behind a few of the circles:

I was excited to see the speech bubble paper and went a little gaga for it but love the result:

I do love the large title cut from my cameo - will do that again for sure. Just a few closeups of the page - I used a lot of foam adhesive to pop the thought bubbles on the page - lots of stamping with the SO CUTE camera an heart stamps that were made by Amy Tangerine:

Next up, I made a canvas - needed to do one project and I am so not normally a big project person, but love how it turned out:

I love the house that was in one of the mini albums made by Amy Tangerine - so I ripped it out and used it as a theme for the canvas. I added some stitching to it and painted a spot on the canvas where the heart was:

I used the paper leaves and folded them in half to make a quick and easy banner across the canvas.

One last page and a card - promise :)

I just layered a few of those speech bubbles with a bunch of chipboard, die cut and stamped houses for something a little different for the card:

 This page is special to me - love the photo, a lot of hand cut love went into this - the pie chart and even exacto knifing out a few of the LOVE's around the page and backing with some of the 6x6 paper patterns:

I love that little boy.girl stamp and added it randomly around the page. So cute. I used some of the grid paper from one of the mini day books to layer behind the photo:
