Fancy Pants Designs sneak peek!

Hello! Just quickly stopping in to share a sneak of a project I have up on the Fancy Pants Designs blog today using the lovely Golden Days collection.

While this collection was made for fall, the coral color is perfect for a lovey themed project too

I used the Heart is Full background from my digital cut file store JustNick for the background.

Joy to the World

Happy Holidays! December is here and I am all ready for Christmas in our house. The tree us up and even most of the gifts are wrapped. I have been working on some holiday themed projects for some DT assignments and wanted to share this one with you today that I created for Jillibean Soup this month.

I started with lots of the Holly Berry Borscht collection by Jillibean Soup. I also used a cut file from my digital cut file store - JustNick studio. This is the Holly Background 2. I cut the background from a white brick paper in the Soup Staples III collection and then popped the whole thing to my background with foam adhesive. I had intended to fill those empty holly berry holes with red paper, but I like the way they are open and the background popping through, so I went with it!

I die cut some holly leaves and berries from more Jillibean Soup papers and added them to my page, after I added my photo and the journaling card. I LOVE using holly and berries in my holiday projects - something different than the standard trees I see on a lot of pages.

I added some sparkly Jillibean Soup adhesive sequins and wood sprinkles to the mix and the page is complete!

I really love how this one came out! The background really pops with those fun holly leaves in the patterned papers! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas if you celebrate!

SCT 12 days of giving !

It's the 12 days of holiday giving over on the Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine blog!

For 12 days we are giving away TONS of prizes, so you want to check it out daily for your chance to win some great stuff from our sponsors.

I am up on the blog today with a fun DIY home décor project, using a Jillibean Soup wood plank and a cut file from my digital die cut store - JustNick studio

I am not a huge home décor person, but once the holidays hit, I love having some small homemade projects around to decorate our home. We don't have a lot of wall space, so this makes things difficult, but a project like this can hang our even be sent out on a ledge or lean against a wall, if it's big enough!

I started with the 12x12 wood plank from Jillibean Soup and sanded it lightly. This helps any paint you want to add "stick" a little better and prevents the paint from bleeding under your stencil too much too.

I die cut the Holiday Wreath from JustNick studio out of Silhouette stencil material. I laid the entire thing in place and then removed the portions that I wanted painted. I like to use a paper piercer for this, so it's easier to remove. Now, it's time to paint! I dab it on in layers so that too much isn't applied all at once - that makes the paint sometimes bleed under the stencil and can create quite the situation.

After 2-3 coats of white paint, I set it aside to dry and then created a small bough out of some craft materials from the local craft store along with some ribbon to add a little color. I die cut a sentiment from gold foil adhesive backed paper and I was done !

I really love how this one turned out. It's really a simple project that would make a great gift too!

12 days of holiday videos

Long time, no speak! I meant to share this last week, but I had a few other things going on and missed it. I was asked to participate in a fun holiday themed Youtube video hop of sorts!

I was up on Day 6 and had to use 6 of one item on my page. I chose 6 different patterned papers and created this page:

I also used the free cut file for December 6 over at JustNick - Frosted Windowpanes. I used those 6 papers to back most of the cut file as you can see here.

Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine - free cut file day!

Good morning! It's the first Tuesday in December, and that means that it is free cut file day again on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog!

Since it's the holiday season, this one is holiday themed. Check it out:

I used the new Fancy Pants collection - Merry and Bright - for the die-cut ornaments. I cut out one of each from the set, using the Merry as my title for the page.

As you can see, I backed each of the open areas of the ornament with different patterned papers from the Merry and Bright collection, along with a little gold glitter cardstock too for some sparkle.

You can grab this file for FREE over on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog today!

Don't forget that the new winter issue of the magazine is out this Friday December 9, 2016... and it's free to view online!

November FREE cut file!

Each month, I create free cut files for the Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine blog.

This is the freebie for November, a fun and funky background design:

There are a lot of ways you can use this cut file, I chose to use it for a masculine page about my teenager who rarely lets me snap his photo these days.

I used a lot of the Crate Paper Cool Kid collection for this one - proof that a little kid collection can go a long way and work outside the intended audience. I love the bold patterns in that collection and so perfect for this teenager in my house.

You can see that I cut strips of paper to back the cut file with, alternating the colors randomly. The main thing I like to do is make sure that no two colors are not beside each other. Mix it up, use one collection and it all works!

I added some bits of black to the project, which works perfectly with my Dear Lizzy chipboard title.

This is one file I will definitely use over and over again. I want to make a bunch of cards with this file as the base! How cute would those be!?

To snag this one for FREE, just head over to the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog HERE. As always, there is a full list of all the freebies on the SCT magazine website too!

Enjoy! If you make something with this cut file - please tag my in Instagram (@nicolenowosad) or post it here in the comments so I can sneak a peek!

JustNick + Stuck?! Sketches team up!

Good morning! Just wanted to share a preview of a team up we have coming up this week on the JustNick blog with the folks at Stuck?! Sketches! Laura creates some fantastic sketches and some of our team had a great time with this team up!

Both teams used one common sketch and some of our cut files from the store and there are lots of inspiration headed your way from Sept 19-24 on both blogs!

I chose to use this new cut file from the store for my page using the sketch and love the result!

I die cut the frame from some patterned paper and then added more paper behind some of the leaves. The sketch calls for three photos, but I cheated and snuck in only one of my favorite fall photos ;)

You can see that I cut out some of the same leaves and stems from vellum and tucked a few around the die cut frame as well. I love the soft texture that vellum adds to a project (and SO easy to do too)

Lots of added stickers from the Simple Stories Bloom and Grow collection added in amongst the die cut shape. I love using the die cut shape to accent pre-made stuff available in the market!

And this is the final result. I pretty much love how this came out. I don't often say that of a page, but this one has some of my favorite colors and I really love the circle and the floral elements.

So, please stop by our blog and the Stuck?! Sketches blog all this week for tons of inspiration and a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to my digital cut file store - JustNick too!

SCT Magazine cut file freebie!

Yes, it is that time of the month again, time for another FREE cut file over on the Scrapbook and Cards Today magazine blog!

Since school is basically back in session now for most kids, I thought we should do a school themed cut file for September as it was only appropriate!

Here is this month's freebie:

This bundle comes with several different icons and so many possibilities! I really loved the star aspect and used some stars in a row for my project, the apples to decorate and of course "star student" for my title!  I love that you could use this set again and again with many different results.

I just love how cute those apples are with different papers backing the empty hearts with a few Simple Stories clear stickers on them. Pop those leaves up with some low profile dimensional adhesive and blammo! fun!

Here is how it all came together, with a little stitched border from some icons cut from a Crate Paper Cool Kid 6x6 paper pad along the top of the page.

Now, head over to the SCT blog to grab your FREEBIE today! As always, you can download all the free cut files on the website HERE

JustNick / Jillibean Team up

I am pretty excited for this month - my digital die cut store - JustNick is teaming up with one of my favorite companies - Jillibean Soup. I am so excited to see all the projects this week from both teams and have one of my own to share with you today.

Being on the Jillibean team, I was lucky enough to have the newest collections (Hardy Hodgepodge and Chit Chat Chowder) to play with for my project. I love these fun and bright colors and both collections mix well together.

I started by cutting my title from the Simple Alphabet Set from my shop, out of different patterned papers in both collections. Popped with foam adhesive, I love the look and dimension on the page!

I also used the Labels One cut file to fill in the bottom of my page. You can see here, that I varied the size, shape and pattern of the labels - so easy to do on a digital die cutting machine.

I love the added mix of Jillibean Soup stickers, wood enamel dots and wood veneers into each of the label shapes.

I added some die cut Ink Splats too - much neater and easier to control the size and shape on a layout!

That's all for me today!

You have a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the JustNick store by leaving comments on both blogs and over on the @justnickstudio Instagram account!

I hope you are stopping by both the Jillibean Soup and JustNick blogs for lots of inspiration this week and your chance to win!

Jillibean Soup + JustNick Team up

As I mentioned earlier this week, my digital cut file store - JustNick is teaming up with Jillibean Soup all week long!

I kicked it off on the Jillibean Soup blog earlier this week with this project using one of my new favorite cut files on my site - Floral Wreath

I have to admit that this cut file is quite delicate, so intricate that you need to be gentle with it, but the result, I think, it pretty awesome! I chose to line the backs of the flowers and leaves with lots of patterned papers from the new Jillibean Soup collection - Hardy Hodgepodge.

I layered it over top of the background paper from the Soup Staples III collection - I love this wood plank paper and use it over and over again.

I pretty much love this page. It is pretty "me" I think, simple yet a touch complex too.

You can win a $25 Gift Certificate to the JustNick store just for commenting over on the Jillibean Soup blog all week and another chance if you leave a comment over at the JustNick blog or Instagram all week too!

Jillibean Soup Wood Plank

This month Jillibean Soup will be teaming up with my digital die cutting store JustNick for all this week! I created a few projects and this is one I created for Jillibean Soup using one of their awesome Wood Planks (this one is 10x10)

I started with a blank wood plank, painted it with Amiable Aqua Happy Hues paint and let it dry. Then, I sanded it down a little bit to get some of the wood showing. I added a Jillibean Soup dot stencil and some Witty White Happy Hues paint again, painted away lightly this time.

I diecut the sentiment from the JustNick cut file and layered several Jillibean Soup papers from the Healthy Hello collection over each other. I used a lot of pop dots to pop it up over the wood plank itself and added in some fussy cut flowers, wood veneers, wood sprinkles and enamel dots too.

I love how this one turned out. It took a few steps, but in the end, I think it is worth it!  I hope you stop by both the JustNick and Jillibean Soup blogs all week to check out some amazing projects!

You have a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the JustNick store by leaving comments on both blogs and over on the @justnickstudio Instagram account!

SCT summer issue share

Hello again! Yes, two posts in a week :) I just wanted to share the projects I had in the summer issue of Scrapbook and Cards Today magazine.

The issue is available for FREE by download HERE

I had a couple assignments. The first was for a stitching article and totally my style! I used a collection from Bo Bunny that was bright and colorful and did a whole lot of stitching.

Here is a shot of some of the detail:

I also used a cut file from my cut file store JustNick - it's called Quilted Background and you can check it out HERE if you are interested. It's a pretty basic background, but you can do SO Much with it! It is one of my faves lately.

Here is how the page came together all stitched and colorful.

I have some cards to share too, be back soon with those!

Fancy Pants Designs - Champions

Hello ! I know it has been a while since I have posted - eek! You would think there would be more time in the summer, not less!

Just wanted to share a project that was posted on the Fancy Pants Designs blog a bit ago, for our weekly focus on shapes! I was assigned stars and this is what I came up with.

I used a star background cut file from JustNick, my digital diecut store and filled in the background with lots of patterned papers from the Good Fellows collection.

I don't often do a lot of sporty photos, but this was a great change to do that - mixing stars and sports seems to be a WIN WIN!  Here is how the whole thing came together:

That's it for me today! I have lots of projects to share, so stay tuned! I am back from vacation and have lots more time to blog regularly :)

Wildflowers - JustNick

Good morning! It has been a while since I shared a project on my blog and so today I am sharing a project that I made for my digital cut file site - JustNick using a couple of my favorite cut files

I started with the Delicate Florals design cut from various Dear Lizzy patterned papers and went from there to fill in the bottom of the page.

I added in a diecut title using the Outline Alphas and Script Alphas 2 designs and finished off the page!

I really like how this all came together and quite simply too!
Thanks for stopping in today!
