Create Magazine - Jillibean Soup

Hello blog readers!! Earlier this month, Create Magazine published it's January issue and it highlights Jillibean Soup!

We are super excited to share a bunch of Jillibean Soup layouts, cards and tags in the magazine and there are even some fun facts all about the Jillibean Soup company too!

Some of the DT designed items for the magazine and I am going to share my pages with you. Each item is based on a sketch provided to us from the magazine, so you should go check out the magazine to see everyone's different takes on the sketches.

I was lucky enough to have some new "soup" to use on my projects - this card and layout both use the new Saffron Yellow Pepper Soup collection, that was revealed at CHA a few weeks ago.

Lots of fun little bits and pops of color in this collection, loving the golden yellow mixed with teal and a hint of black too. I tried to stick pretty close to the sketch, added in a few layers to the edges of the page as it was just too white for my liking.

I used so many Jillibean Wood Sprinkles (wood/enamel dots) lately, I think they are my newest addiction. Even the large ones which frighten some people, but they are perfect instead of a boring punched circle shape. I love the little file tags that have sentiments or quotes on them and so I trimmed a few down for this little banner on my page. I attempted to watercolor a mini placemat card for my title and added more watercolor paint behind it so you could read the title easily!

I hope you will head over and check out all the great DT projects and those from the rest of the magazine contributors, who used a lot of JIllibean Soup this month!

Lily Bee Design projects!

I really need to get back into the regular blog mode - I am here today to share 2 projects I made for Lily Bee Design this week!

This week - the theme is "white space", which... I have a hard time with!! I love to add lots of paper, so my interpretations are pretty liberal :)

I pulled out the Autumn Spice collection from last year and added in some goodies from the newest collections too!
I made a fall banner with my cameo - to download the file - click HERE

The sketch challenge went up today - here is a peek at the sketch and my take on it:

I managed to add a lot of stitching to my page by cutting some small squares to add into the center of the polaroid frames on the paper. I am really into the whole quilted look these days!
I hope you will play along with us this month !!!

Check out the Lily Bee blog today for all the details!

Scraptastic sketch time

Every month at Scraptastic, we have a fun sketch to use to play along with!

Here was my take on the sketch:
I'll be honest - I like to start a page and finish it all in one sitting - I hate being disturbed when I am scrapping something... I was interrupted at least 10 times and scrapped this page over 3 days - hate that. I never seem to get the result I had in mind on day 1, does that make sense?
Anyway, this page didn't quite turn out as I had invisioned it... lol
Day one started out by misting my page with my October Afternoon Sprinkler in a pale mint colour - it's one of my faves - and then started on three grouping in each area as the sketch indicated. From there, I added the custom Cameo cut from the kit to my photo with some stitching and then used a ton of the Elle's Studio flags under the photo.

Day two started out with the second grouping, where I layered lots of embellishments. I used the journaling card in the kit, along with a tag which I stamped with a pattern and layered a wood veneer and more paper and stickers on top. Stitched it all down over a doily. I did stamp with some of my favorite Technique Tuesday - Ali Edwards - stamps and pop dot that sentiment on the card too.
Day three - needed/wanted to add the third cluster on the bottom of the page - but couldn't remember what I was thinking on day one ;) - so stamped all over some white cardstock with the sentiment and added some stitched hearts cut from my Cameo. At this point, I needed to get the page done and move on. That ever happen to you?

Anyways, please check out the Scraptastic Blog for this month's sketch as well as the rest of the DT takes on it!

Jillibean Soup Sketch time again!

It's that time of the month - time for a new Jillibean Soup sketch!
I did a simple linear sketch this month - you can check it out on the blog HERE...
but here is my page:

I did a lot of cutting with my Cameo on this page - I used some of the pretty Jillibean Soup cutting files available in the Silhouette online store. I love the hearts ... a personal fave!!

I went to town with lots of words for my title - was a great way to use up a lot of my Jillibean Soup scrap papers that I keep! I cannot waste one gorgeous scrap!! That scripty font is my fave :)

Hope you will play along with us this month - please DO! Share your pages with us on the Jillibean Soup Facebook page, or link us up at the Jillibean Soup blog too :)

I am off for a few days to Crop & Create in Saskatoon, SK Canada!! I can't wait to see some friends there and spend time scrapping without worrying about kids and dinner and all that  :)

Be back soon to share more projects :)

Jillibean Sketch time!

Another one of my sketches went up over at the Jillibean Soup blog today!

Here it is:

I have been in a pie chart mood lately... sorry if it is over kill -
but it is a great way to incorporate a bunch of papers on a page :)
I cut the pie chart shapes on my Cameo - same with the title:

I cut the hearts with my Cameo too - they are the Jillibean Soup Heart shapes!!
Did you know they are available in the Silhouette store??
yep they are - and I love them <3 p="p">

Hope you will play along with me this week and show us your take on the sketch
on the blog and our Facebook page too!

Sketch time at Jillibean

I have another sketch up over at the Jillibean Soup blog this month - Play along and you could win!

Here is the sketch:
Lots of fun possibilities with this one!

Here is my take on it -
I used a mix of Neopolitan Bean Bisque and Southern Chicken Dumpling Soup ! I added in one of the vellum envelopes stamped with my Sweet & Sour Soup stamps from Unity/Jillibean too:
Punch some "confetti" from some scraps and include inside for some fun!  I also broke out my Cuttlebug and Papertrey Ink banner dies for this page.. layered with some white cardstock to pop a little more:
and a big ol' title cluster at the bottom of the page! lol
I hope you will play along with the sketch this month and share them with us on the blog or Facebook too! You could be "Soup Spotted" or pinned :)
