More from the Cottage Kit!!

Just stopping by today to share a couple more pages made with the June Cottage Kit at The Scrapbook Cottage here in Winnipeg!

First up a page I made with some of the Core'dinations paper mixed with some of the Crate Paper!

I love the Technique Tuesday stamps that I have all from The Cottage - perfect for tags or little journalling when you just don't know what to say!

Isn't that ribbon pretty!! I love it!

And another page using a few of the Jenni Bowlin octagon stickers in the kit:
More sandable cardstock here - this one by Bazzill this time. Adds a nice texture. I added in some alphas from my stash and some new Jillibean mini alphas in navy too!
I used the Tim Holtz Distress marker for journalling ... along with some stamping on another page I will share later! I have found a new love. These are so affordable and easy!!! Lots of techniques on youtube for them too! Love that.

Hope you will check out the kit online or in person!!

Quick flower tutorial today!

Yes, it is.. at least I think so! I found some inspiration this month using the May kit - The Story. I really loved the pretty coral paper in this month's kit by Bazzill Basics. I dug into my previous Scrapbook Circle kits and found a coral flower from Pebblies Inc. that I hadn't used from a previous kit - like these ones here:
My problem was that I only had 1 flower - I like to use multiples of three on a page - so I improvised and made these:

They were super easy to create too. Here is how:

1) Punch 3 circles out of your favorite paper from the Scrapbook Circle kit (I used 1.5" circles)

2) On the back of the circle divide the paper into sections - start with an + and just keep making the + into smaller and smaller sections that resemble a V

3) Take your scissors and trim one thin V section and then leaving one. Repeat all the way around. If it doesn't equal out exact, that is okay you won't be able to tell once the flower is together!

4) Repeat for the other 2 circles

5) Take some foam squares/pop dots and layer in between 2 of the circles. Add a brad or button to the third circle and pop dot to the top

VOILA! You are done!! Here is my page using these flowers as accents:
You can make the flowers in different sizes quite easily - just adjust your circle size! The larger the circle, the larger the flower! And you can make the "petals" as thin or large as you want too - just adjust in the back of your paper when trimming!

Been to the market???

Let me tell you that I have .. OMG - the March kit from Scrapbook Circle - Vintage Market - is so pretty, elegant and fun all in one!

Here is one of the pages I did with this kit:
I am not a fussy cutter. Honestly, I LOVE it when I see great artists who can cut a piece of patterned paper so intricately and it looks SO AWESOME.

Me - I am too lazy...lol.

BUT, I decided that those doily shapes were worth it, so I cut each one out while helping Lucas with his homework this weekend. I think the page turned out ok! I layered a few on each other, with a little pop dot action and pearls/buttons.

Check out that super pretty Bazzill Button in the bottom right corner. I love it. So pretty!
I love the rich black paper mixed with the bright doily coloured paper from Crate Paper and really - how cute are those Jenni Bowlin banner stickers!! Love em!

I added in some twine from the Scrapbook Circle shop and highly recommend it !! It is SUCH a good deal and the colour choices are so cute!!!
