Scrapbook and Cards cut file freebie!

Hello! It's that time of the month again, where I release a new cut file freebie over on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog!

Here is what this month's freebie looks like:

I used a mixture of Fancy Pants collections - Everyday Circus, True Friend and foil from the Oh Deer! collection to create this page.

I used the title and the hearts from the cut file on this page, layering bit of papers from the Fancy Pants collections over the woodgrain from the Everyday Circus collection.

I love how that foil looks tucked behind some simple white cardstock. So pretty and not too flashy either.

Starting this month, I have asked some GDT to join me on the blog using the same cut file to see what they can come up with! I am choosing talented crafters from the readers gallery in the magazine! This month, I am joined by my friend and super star scrapper Patricia Roebuck. You have to see what she did with this same cut file over on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog. I admit that her page is WAY better than mine!

Scrapbook and Cards Today - Winter issue

I've been working behind the scenes on my upcoming projects for the spring issue of Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine.

I thought it was about time that I share my winter issue projects, before winter is over! (gosh, I hope it is over soon.....)


Each issue I have two assignments that alternate. This issue, I was in two different magazine features.

First up was the 3T's - technique based approach. I was tasked to use dies to create a quilted look to my page.

I love the quilted look, but honestly had never tried it using dies!! It was quite easy to do using simple circle and square dies. Here is what I came up with:

(suppplies: Fancy Pants Oh Deer! collection- tags, chalkboard stickers, alphas and papers)

I created the circles by adhering several diect squares to some plain cardstock. Once I had 9 lined up I added two different sized circle dies (tack with some washi to hold in place) and run through my diecutter! I was left with some rings which I added to my white base. Once I filled up the one side of my page, I added a boatload of stitching to complete that quilted feel. May sound like a lot of work,but really, it was quite simple! In just a few short steps, you can get a unique look on your page. I will definitely do this again. Perfect for those that have simple dies and no electronic diecut machine, like a Silhouette.

Next, I created this page for the 3DC challenge in the magazine. This feature is where 3 scrappers get the same base products as we all create pages using those same items! Fun right? This issue had some great Jillibean Soup papers in the 3DC challenge and I knew right away I would cut up the number paper for this page:

I was also sent some Doodlebug doilies and attempted to create a tree by folding some doilies together. I wish it had turned out larger, but it is kind of cute.

The spring issue will be out soon and there are some great feature articles this round! I have a couple challenging assignments and hope you will stop by to check them out!

Fancy Pants Holiday Cards

Hello blog readers!!! I am full on in the holiday spirit and today I have a couple fun cards I made for Fancy Pants Designs, using some items from the Oh Deer collection!

For my first card, I used the Fancy Pants Designs corrugated cardstock to create my little snowman! I added a paper hat and nose, along with some chipboard and regular buttons from the button pack.

I really like how the snowman came together... and quickly too! I used some of the chalk tape (trimmed down) to create his stick arms.

This next card is created with a die cut frame and the adorable mini bottle brush trees! I popped the frame over some Fancy Pants vellum that I had previously punched some snowflakes from. Once it was popped up with foam adhesive, I flattened the back of the trees with my fingers and then glued in place inside the frame "window"

I finished the card off with a few Fancy Pants sequins and some enamel dots from my stash.

It really isn't too much work to create a couple of cool holiday themed cards! Have a crafty day :)

SCT - 12 Days of Giving and WIN!!

I made some really simple small gift or gift card holders with some yummy Fancy Pants Oh Deer collection. This project comes together SO quickly, and is perfect for using up scraps of paper and a few embellishments.

Each of these little packages fit a smaller gift item - I am going to use mine for a necklace and earrings for my daughter, for example. They are also large enough to house a gift card and note inside - perfect for teachers or caregiver gifts!
