More June Hip Kits!

Good morning! For us it is the countdown to the last few days of school and soccer... only a few more days and we get a bit of a break for summer :) I am excited to be off for a few days next week too :)

I am stopping in today to share another page using the June Hip Kit Club kits:

The kits have lots of the new Fancy Pants collection Summer Sun in it - I used the triangle paper as a background and a few of the tags to embellish my page.

I added in some enamel dot/wood button embellishments and stickers from Crate Paper to embellish and some mist-painted wood veneer words too.

I love the bold diecut title from the pink cardstock in the add on - I cut it 4x on my Cameo and layered them with adhesive. It looks dimensional in real life and holds up well so that I don't need to put pop dots behind the thinner words in the title.

This title is available in my cut file store - you can find it here:

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

June Hip Kits!

The June Hip Kit Club kits arrived on my doorstep last week and I dove right in! There are lots of summery items in the kits and perfect for some of my photos from Disney last year.

I created this page using the June kits:

I love the Crate Paper frames in the kit and used them to create a bit of pattern on my page. I added in one of the PL cards designed by DT member Kim Watson too!

Stay tuned for another freebie for those who are members of the Hip Kit Club Facebook group - these + signs are part of that freebie designed by me :)

That's it for me today! I am off to watch some baseball playoffs all weekend! Enjoy some sun :)

Nerd Alert! - Fancy Pants Designs

Good morning and TGIF!!! I am headed to a weekend crop this weekend but wanted to share a fun page I made using the new Office Suite collection by Fancy Pants Designs!

What can I say about this collection - I LOVE the bright patterns - like this black/white paper - mixed with soft yellow, pink and mint! Yes, mint. I cannot get enough mint green!

I used some 12x12 sheets of paper, along with my 6x6 paper pad and lots of diecut tags for this page. The paper pad makes it really easy to just snip off different papers and add them together, without all the bulk (and waste) of lots of piled high layers.

In addition to the papers, I used some of these fun mixed alpha letters from the Flutter collection by Fancy Pants for my title. I did add some dimensional foam adhesive to the back so they popped off the page a little. I love the fun mixed title and the retro/vintage feel of the letters.

If you haven't seen Office Suite in person, you really are missing out - I love the new textured papers and just the thickness of the weight of the paper too. Make sure you ask your LSS for it, or snag some from Scrapbook.com or A Cherry On Top!

Fancy Pants Office Suite Cards!

I am just getting ready to attend a weekend crop and teach a class but thought I would stop in to share some quick and easy cards I made with the Fancy Pants Designs Office Suite collection.

I really love the soft floral paper in the collection and used that as inspiration for this card. I really wanted to pull a bunch of patterns on the card, and so I reverted to my typical pie chart.  :)

I added some stitching and a stamped sentiment and a few brads/enamel dots and I was done!  I love a super simple and easy card that I could easily duplicate for different occasions.

Once of my other favorite patterns in this collection is this pink + sign paper! I love the elephant diecut too and wanted to use that as a baby card! I added some quick stitching and a stamp from my stash for the sentiment.

You can really see the new texture on the Fancy Pants papers - on this pink paper below - it's a really great thicker, textured paper!

That's it for me today!

Kind heart, fierce mind- Fancy Pants

Good morning!!! It has been such a whirlwind around our house lately. My grandmother passed about 2 weeks ago and it has really made me think about how life really does pass you by sometimes.

I grabbed the Fancy Pants collection Flutter and this photo of my son and got to work. Now, the Flutter collection IS pretty girly. There are lots of pink patterns...but there is a great masculine side to it too! I gravitated to those colors for this page about my oldest son.

See, lots of teal, navy and gold - with some soft touches of pink intertwined make for a masculine page. I added some Fancy Pants cork star embellishments along with buttons, stickers and a journaling card too for my title.

Those cork stars are great with a couple stickers on the centres to add a touch of colour. I know that this collection is shipping - if you haven't seen it in your local LSS = please ask for it, or you can snag some at Scrapbook.com, My Scraps and More and A Cherry On Top too!

Fancy Pants Holiday Cards

Hello blog readers!!! I am full on in the holiday spirit and today I have a couple fun cards I made for Fancy Pants Designs, using some items from the Oh Deer collection!

For my first card, I used the Fancy Pants Designs corrugated cardstock to create my little snowman! I added a paper hat and nose, along with some chipboard and regular buttons from the button pack.

I really like how the snowman came together... and quickly too! I used some of the chalk tape (trimmed down) to create his stick arms.

This next card is created with a die cut frame and the adorable mini bottle brush trees! I popped the frame over some Fancy Pants vellum that I had previously punched some snowflakes from. Once it was popped up with foam adhesive, I flattened the back of the trees with my fingers and then glued in place inside the frame "window"

I finished the card off with a few Fancy Pants sequins and some enamel dots from my stash.

It really isn't too much work to create a couple of cool holiday themed cards! Have a crafty day :)

Fancy Pants - True Friend collection

Good morning!!If you are anything like me, you are knee deep in holiday preparations. Our kids had their holiday concerts last week and now that they are over, we hve a little more free time during the week.

I am just stopping in to share a non-holiday project as I tend to get tired of seeing all the holiday projects posted out on the internet! This project was made with the True Friend collection by Fancy Pants. I love the colors in this collection, it definitely is a new fave for me.

You can see that there are fun wood veneer and chipboard shapes that co-ordinate with this collection and just work perfectly. Sometimes I find that the embellies don't always match the sentiment of a collection, this is not the case with True Friend!

I love the little ticket rols that you can get in some of the recent Fancy Pants Design collections. The True Friend roll is great, just peel off the sentiment you need and adhere or staple in place, like I did along the top of my page here.

Well, I better get back to cleaning, cooking, wrapping, baking etc... Santa is a busy guy ;)

SCT - 12 Days of Giving and WIN!!

Good morning!! Are you ready for something fun?? Today, I have a simple gift giving project to share with you as part of the 12 Days of Giving that has started on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog !

I made some really simple small gift or gift card holders with some yummy Fancy Pants Oh Deer collection. This project comes together SO quickly, and is perfect for using up scraps of paper and a few embellishments.

Each of these little packages fit a smaller gift item - I am going to use mine for a necklace and earrings for my daughter, for example. They are also large enough to house a gift card and note inside - perfect for teachers or caregiver gifts!

You can also easily customize how large to make them by just choosing a larger circle to start with! All the instructions on how to make this quick project are up on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog today HERE

The best part is that Scrapbook and Cards Today magazine has partnered with some of their advertisers to offer up 12 days of great giveaways!! I am proud to be partnered up with Janome - I create the ads in the magazine for them. They are such great people and guess what?? They are giving away a Janome sewing machine as their gift!!!

Check out the post on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog - HERE to get your chance to enter this, and 11 other giveaways during our 12 Days of Giveaways!!

Fancy Pants - Oh Deer! collection

I love the fun mix of traditional holiday colours with non-traditional bits tossed in too. The Oh Deer! collection from Fancy Pants is just that. Rich browns, red and green paired with turquoise, white and pops of coral pink too!

Here is a page I created this month using the Oh Deer! collection:

I actually used very little patterned paper for this page... but a mix of the brag cards with lots of the ticket roll to create a fun paper border.

We'll be having our monthly Social Media recap on December 6 on the Fancy Pants blog - hope you will join us and see what the Social Media team has been up to this month!

Magic - Fancy Pants Designs

Good morning! I feel like I have been on a bit of a blog roll these days. Finally had a good amount of time to sit down and actually blog my projects. I have been getting ahead of the curve, so to speak, on my assignments and even started scrapping a few photos from our trip to Disney this past summer. I know that it is a trip I want to document for the kids so they don't forget about it.

I am kicking off that with this page using the Everyday Circus line by Fancy Pants! It really is perfect for several things, and I thought it was quite appropriate for some Disney photos like this one of the Magic Kingdom castle taken on our first night at Disneyworld.

There are a few bold colors in the collection and I particularly love this bold yellow. I know what you are thinking - yellow? Yes, yellow. It used to be one of those colors I just couldn't scrapbook with, but lately, I have been using more and more of it on my pages. This yellow pairs so well with gold, so I did add some gold chipboard letters in the mix, that went well with the Disney themed page.

I added in lots of the tags from the Everyday Circus collection, across the center of the page and tied the whole thing together with the fun flair and a striped patterned paper across the bottom of the page!

There really are some great patterns in the collection and I know I will be pulled to this collection over and over for my Disney or even boy pages! Mind you, there are some fun pops of pink too that would work for pages of my daughter... so it's a good mix! Be back again tomorrow with another project share :)

Old School Cool - Fancy Pants

I have one last project to share with you for Fancy Pants this month - this time, using more of the Burlap and Bouquest collection.

I wanted to use this cut paper that I had lying around and a lot of papers from the Burlap and Bouquets line from Fancy Pants - and this is the result:

I love these pretty chipboard buttons mixed with the larger sized flair and traditional buttons and some natural twine.

Here is how my page came together. I used lots of little bits of paper from  the collection on this page and it has a fun vibe I think? :)

Hope to see you at our Social Saturday this weekend on the Fancy Pants blog!

Fancy Pants Oh Deer!

I've been having lots of fun playing with the Oh Deer! collection from Fancy Pants - although it is a seasonal collection, I made a non-seasonal layout with it.

Check out this page that I made.

I started the page with the layered piece on the bottom - lots of bits of papers from the Oh Deer collection here:

and then I added in some embellies from Meology and Burlap and Bouquets too!

This Saturday is the first Saturday of the month - which means it's time for another Social Saturday!

Stop by the Fancy Pants blog to see what the Social Media team has been up to this month.
Hope you will join us!

Fancy Pants

Well, brace for it - I am about to show you a page all about winter. Yes, it is already getting pretty cool up here in Canada and so I thought it was only appropriate to scrap these photos from last winter.

I used the Fancy Pants Oh Deer! Collection for this page - there are some really fun elements in this line, I love the rich raspberry colour mixed with a mint/teal colour and it's not just for winter/xmas ! Lots of great patterns you could use year round.

Here is my page:

Now, let's look at some of those fun things I mentioned earlier!

Flair: the Fancy Pants flair is much larger than the "normal" size you have seen out there.. I think it makes it easier to use! I find the "other" ones out there are almost too small sometimes??

Mini Trees: Yes, these are amazing. They do come on a tiny wood base, but I removed mine and flattened the back of the tree to adhere to my page. Super easy embellie.

Foil Papers: Perfect for titles, and these snowflakes - and to cut on my Silhouette Cameo too! I have a few ideas floating around in my brain for the foil!

I hope you are able to join us next weekend for our Social Saturday roundup on the Fancy Pants blog

Fancy Pants True Friend!

Good morning!! I am super excited to be sharing a page I made using the True Friend collection by Fancy Pants!

I love love love this collection - the colours are amazing... that coral, and teal with hints of yellow, mint, brown and black. Yep brown + black together and it works! Love it!

I used quite a few die cuts and 4x6 and 3x4 cards on this page. I simply cut a few cards apart and layered them like paper, mixing in patterns from the 6x6 paper pad as well! I love the almost matte like sequins, mixed with some shiny ones!

Stay tuned the first weekend of each month when the Social Media team has a recap over on the Fancy Pants Blog - hope you will join in and check out what we've been tweeting, IG'ing, Facebooking, etc!

Fancy Pants Social Saturday!!

Welcome to the very first Fancy Pants Social Saturday!!!

Every first Saturday of the month is a wrap up of the Social Media Team's inspiration and a peek at what they have all been sharing with you on the social media platforms.

Here is a page I created this month using lots of the great Fancy Pants line, Me-ology!

I haven't received my magical box of Fancy Pants goodness yet, but I did have some of this line in my stash already, so I went to town with the strips and a bit of fussy cutting on this page.

Now, head on over to the Fancy Pants blog and check out everything else that has been going on with Fancy Pants and our new Social Media team!
