Cut file freebie for October!

It's the first Tuesday of the month - and that means time for another cut file freebie on the Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine blog! This one is pretty whimsical - and I do think it reminds me of cobwebs, which is perfect for October right!

I did not go the cobwebs route, but used it as a layering piece for a masculine page. I know, I haven't scrapped my boys for a while now. That is basically because they won't let me take their photos anymore! Especially my 13 year old who is in this page below.

I did cut the cut file freebie twice - once with vellum and a second time with white cardstock. I placed the vellum over the white and added some patterned paper behind it. I don't often use large circles, so I cut the whole thing in half and then stitched it to my page in place, adding a small title along the curve of one half of the circle. This allowed me to use up some letter stickers, which is a huge win-win for me!!

I dug into my stash for some masculine items, like flair, stars and even some stamps. I added a couple rows of stamps along the bottom of the page. Need to use my stamps more! These ones by Technique Tuesday are some of my favorites.

That's it for me! If you want to download this freebie, head over to the SCT magazine website HERE and download it for FREE!

SCT September freebie!

It's that time of the month again! Time for a FREE cut file on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog.

Here is this month's freebie that I created. Perfect for many kinds of projects, right!!
I wanted to use the word frames on my page. I cut out all of them, but truth is, I went with only one frame in the end! I instead used the "insides" of the cut file as a background for my page instead, and used the "snapshot" frame overtop my photo.

I used several different papers by American Crafts and Crate Paper. I dug deep into my stash for this green one by Crate Paper about 6-7 years ago! I still love the color and pattern of it. Classic.

Now, hop on over to the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog and get your FREE download (SVG, DXF, PNG) :

Awesome - JustNick Cut Files

Good morning! I am just stopping in to share a page using one of the new cut files from the JustNick store called Under the Stars and Moon

I actually only used the stars from this cut file to create this page. I took the star design and adjusted the size and even the angle of the star "lines". I welded several of the stars together to create the star design here:

I cut it out of some plain white cardstock and then painted on some gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine mist in a few different areas around the design. I heated it up with my heat gun to create a slightly bubbly metallic effect. I really love how that turned out and will be doing that again !

I love how easy it is to take 1 shape and create a unique page of your own using a cut file. The best part is doing it all over again you may get a different result!

SCT May cut file freebie!

It is that time of the month - yep, it is free cut file Tuesday on the Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine blog.

Today's freebie is a little trendy and completely adaptable too. Here is what it looks like:

I chose to weld a few of these designs together to create a bit of a background for my page. You could certainly use any or all of the shapes as is or combine some together to create a unique background.

You can see here, that I simply added some patterned papers from the Simple Stories collection I AM behind my cut background design.

This month, I am joined by the super talented Jen Chapin - make sure you check out the SCT blog to see how she used this same cut file for her project.

If you want to download this FREE file- just click HERE
(.zip file that includes .studio, .svg, .png and .dxf file)

I also get asked quite a bit how you can download these freebies and store them either on your computer or in your Silhouette software... here is a quick video I did on my Youtube channel if you are interested:

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by :)

SCT April cut file FREEBIE!

It's FREEBIE time!! Yep, time for a new cut file freebie - this month is a background of sorts, that you can split up, resize, duplicate, or whatever your little hearts desire!

Here is the freebie this month:

This month, I have asked Jaclyn Rench to join me on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog to use this cut file. She did a great job using the file - please make sure to stop by the SCT blog and check out her page!

I decided to use just the polka dot pattern from the cut file to create this page:

I lined the back of most of the circles with some punched circles from a We R Memory Keepers 6x6 paper pad.

This allowed me to add in lots of different patterns without it looking too busy, which I love. I kept the photo larger for the same reason. I am not a fan of small, tiny photos in different shapes that you can't see easily when looking at a scrapbook page. Just my two cents :)

SCT birthday celebration + freebie!!

Today is the day we say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine!

I was asked to create a free cut file to giveaway to our readers, and for the design team to create with to celebrate... and here it is:

I made a celebration card for this occasion, using some We R Memory Keepers paper, my Technique Tuesday stamps and some double sided adhesive from Silhouette.

I started with the cake shape and cut it from a few different papers in the cut file and layered it all together, adding some diecut candles and double sided adhesive with glitter for the flames!

I finished off the card with some black hemp twine and some epoxy dots and that was super quick !

Now, stop by the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog and wish them a Happy Birthday... and you never know.. maybe you can win something too while you are there :)

Scrapbook and Cards Today and a free cut file!

Good morning! I am happy to be sharing this month's Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine free cut file with you today!

This month's is a simple and fun one. Perfect for all different projects.

Here is what the freebie looks like:

Cute one right? I wanted to make something simple but fun and could be used on both masculine and girly pages alike. I went with masculine as my poor boys have been taking a back seat in the scrapping department these days. Bad mama.

I pulled out some new Basic Grey Adrift to create this page.

Once I diecut all the triangles out of different patterns from the Basic Grey line, I just layered them together to create piecharts of sorts. I had this in mind when I created the cut file over a month ago. Sometimes, I have an idea in my head for how to use the file when I create it... sometimes not.

I hope you will like this cut file!!! It really is quite versatile, I have a few other ideas rolling in my head for it already!

I have my good buddy Kristine Davidson joinging me on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog using this same cut file... please stop by the blog and check out how she used the same cut file!

Scrapbook and Cards cut file freebie!

Hello! It's that time of the month again, where I release a new cut file freebie over on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog!

Here is what this month's freebie looks like:

I used a mixture of Fancy Pants collections - Everyday Circus, True Friend and foil from the Oh Deer! collection to create this page.

I used the title and the hearts from the cut file on this page, layering bit of papers from the Fancy Pants collections over the woodgrain from the Everyday Circus collection.

I love how that foil looks tucked behind some simple white cardstock. So pretty and not too flashy either.

Starting this month, I have asked some GDT to join me on the blog using the same cut file to see what they can come up with! I am choosing talented crafters from the readers gallery in the magazine! This month, I am joined by my friend and super star scrapper Patricia Roebuck. You have to see what she did with this same cut file over on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog. I admit that her page is WAY better than mine!

SCT Jan cut file freebie

First off - I cannot believe that this has been sitting in my draft folder for a couple weeks!! With the holidays and then CHA immediately following, my normal blogging schedule is totally off kilter!

The first Tuesday of every month is when I release my cut file freebie on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog.
It's a little late, but check out this month's freebie:

I really wanted to make it simple, but useful too. This file is perfect for scrapbook pages, pocket page spreads and even cards! Each month and word is a different tab that you can easily cut and tuck behind a photo, layer on a PL card or use as a sentiment on a card. I used mine for this scrapbook layout to document a quick view of 2014.

I normally don't use more than 2-3 photos on a page, so this was a stretch for me! I had the plan in my head and it came out okay... although I think I didn't control myself and added too much. The title size threw me off, but I had a hard time making it work. Oh well, they can't all be masterpieces right?

You can see that I did tuck those month titles behind my photo grid, using Silhouette adhesive backed cardstock - which I LOVE!!! So easy to cut, peel and stick down.

I am working on next month's freebie right now, I hope you enjoy this one and that you will "love" next months too ;) To download this freebie, visit the SCT blog HERE

SCT fall kit + free cut file!

Happy Tuesday! I am up on the Scrapbook and Cards Today magazine blog with this month's cut file!

I have been seeing lots of great triangles everywhere for a while now, and thought I would use that as inspiration for today's freebie. Here is what it looks like:

I played around with the fall kit from Scrapbook and Cards to make this page. There are so many warm autumn colors in the kit, and tons of fun patterned papers. I wanted to use a good combo, so I cut this file from Silhouette Adhesive cardstock and backed each one with bits of paper. I know, I do that a lot. It's a great way to add lots of color in a fun way!

Because I used all that paper, I kept the rest of the page quite neutral, by using the kraft doily, burlap style chipboard letters and burlap hearts and arrow embellishments. They are so fun!

You can see that I stamped some feathers from the fall kit set onto patterned paper and trimmed them out, layered together and tied with some of my favorite twine to attach to the page. A really quick way to embellish in a pinch!

That's it for me today - head on over to the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog HERE to get the free download... and now with svg file too!!! So happy we are able to do this for everyone now... more people getting the freebies!

Scrapbook and Cards + a free cut file!

I have a new post up on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog with this month's free cameo cut file.

Here is what the freebie looks like this month:

You could definitely use this file over and over again and for different purposes! Use all the squares, or even just one. Cut out the heart and use that over and over! There are endless possibilities.

Here is the page I created using a lot of the cut squares for my page. The page really came together quickly once I had all the squares cut out from patterned paper.

Lately, I have been sticking to cutting my shapes out of cardstock, but I forget how lovely simple shapes like this look cut from patterned paper.

The squares are great for layering letters and other embellishments onto. I popped my squares up with foam adhesive, but you could leave them plain and they would work just as well!

To download the cut file, just click HERE

Hope you are enjoying these cut files - I already have next month's set up to go... working on a holiday one for December next! Enjoy!!

It's the last day to enter in the giveaway here on my blog - just click HERE and leave a comment.. I'll be drawing names for a Bella Blvd prize pack!!! Lots of goodies :)

Scrapbook and Cards freebie time!

It's that time of the month over on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog - the first Tuesday of every month - I offer up an exclusive .studio freebie file!

Here is today's freebie

It's a pretty simple one really - you can use the background and the circles, or the circles inside. So a few different options for you.

Here is what I made with it, using the insides of the circles.

Each of the circles have different designs, so I cut them out using Silhouette Self-Adhesive Cardstock and went to town. I backed each one with a different patterned paper really easily and with no adhesive! The cardstock really does do the trick.
