It is not often that I have a random project share - but I created a few projects for the Silhouette team and then left to start my own cut file store (JustNick)

I created this page using a Jillibean Soup cut file that I sketched on my page with black sketch pens! I added some diecut hearts and voila - complete!

I really love how the cut file works as a sketched design. So easy and pretty with some watercolors inside the text too.

Life Documented - This Family

good morning! I have a random project to share with you today! I initially created this for Silhouette assignment that didn't end up happening, so here it is today!

I used the Simple Stories collection - Life Documented for this page, along with several designs from the Silhouette store, including the title and circles.

 I love the pretty patterns and colors in this collection! and I ADORE the new Simple Stories Bradz without the darn prongs - serious SMART idea!

Silhouette America - Celebrating Three

Hello and happy last day of April! Can you believe it is almost MAY!!! That means the constant shing sun, green grass and the beach is coming! We have been lucky to have a bit of an early spring this year, so that makes me happy as we are usually prone to 8-9 months of cold temps :)

I created this page with for the Silhouette America blog today - I used a card design as a hidden journaling pocket! Here is my page:

I cut the present design shape to the size I wanted and then typed some journaling in my Silhouette software and printed onto my printer. I cut the journaling into strips and attached to the inside of my journaling "card". This acts like an embellishment too!

I couldn't resist a little glam for the page, so I used some Printable Silver Foil to cut my title on the page.

I will be back soon with a few more projects!

Silhouette America Tutorial - Hello Silly Face

I have a new tutorial up on the Silhouette America Blog today and this one uses two Silhouette products that I love, but often forget I have - Clear Stamp Material and Sketch pens. I thought I would use both for today's project!

I created the stamps and used the Silhouette software to do the design work for my page. I used sketch pens to create faux stitching on where I would do my stamping later on and even some circles around exactly where the stamp was going. Sounds a little complicated, but honestly was so easy.

A couple quick things to keep in mind when creating your own stamp: 1) Don't chose a thin design. Thicker more solid shapes work best. The stamp material is quite thin, so I have not had great outcomes with thinner designs. I chose a stamp I would use often (piechart) and went from there. 2) You can see that I used a bunch of different colors of inks for my pie charts - I find that PIGMENT ink works best with the Silhouette Stamp Material.

Silhoutte America - Loved

Hello and welcome to my blog! I just wanted to say HI to all my loyal readers, I know that you are out there even if you don't leave a comment!

Today I am sharing a page I made with my Silhouette CAMEO and the help of sketch pens and my watercolor paints. I did a tutorial last month on the Silhouette blog HERE on how to make your own patterned paper using sketch pens and watercolors and thought I would give it another go for this page:.

The possibilities for this technique are truly endless. You can virtually sketch out any design with your CAMEO, select your favorite watercolor paints and get to work with really little effort.

I love script font titles and added one in black to go with the black sketch pen I had used and contrast the pinks in the background a bit.

SCT birthday celebration + freebie!!

Today is the day we say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine!

I was asked to create a free cut file to giveaway to our readers, and for the design team to create with to celebrate... and here it is:

I made a celebration card for this occasion, using some We R Memory Keepers paper, my Technique Tuesday stamps and some double sided adhesive from Silhouette.

I started with the cake shape and cut it from a few different papers in the cut file and layered it all together, adding some diecut candles and double sided adhesive with glitter for the flames!

I finished off the card with some black hemp twine and some epoxy dots and that was super quick !

Silhouette Tutorial - Patterned Paper - LUCKY

I had a fun tutorial up on the Silhouette blog yesterday, using this week's free design.

I used part of this week's free design to create this "patterned paper" with my Silhouette sketch pens and then added lots of watercolors too :)

I added some white circles to the to of my page and some diecut shamrocks, which are also part of the free design this week.

Scrapbook and Cards Today and a free cut file!

Good morning! I am happy to be sharing this month's Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine free cut file with you today!

This month's is a simple and fun one. Perfect for all different projects.

Here is what the freebie looks like:

Cute one right? I wanted to make something simple but fun and could be used on both masculine and girly pages alike. I went with masculine as my poor boys have been taking a back seat in the scrapping department these days. Bad mama.

I pulled out some new Basic Grey Adrift to create this page.

Once I diecut all the triangles out of different patterns from the Basic Grey line, I just layered them together to create piecharts of sorts. I had this in mind when I created the cut file over a month ago. Sometimes, I have an idea in my head for how to use the file when I create it... sometimes not.

 

I hope you will like this cut file!!! It really is quite versatile, I have a few other ideas rolling in my head for it already!

Silhouette - Simply Adore You

Hello hello! I hope you are having a good day - I am stopping by to share a page I made for Silhouette this month using some fabulous Karla Dudley cut files.

I adore the stacked sentiments in the Silhouette Design store and used on on this page here:

I really kept it quite simple, just using the diecut shapes simply stitched down and a small amount of enamel dots and canvas stars by Simple Stories

Making this page was quite simple, just some basic cardstock and a My Mind's Eye Jubilee paper pad. I love the bold colors and patterns in the collection and had fun diecutting a bunch of simple shapes to create pattern on my page.

Hope you like it! I am in major mojo these days and have lots of projects to share with you :) Stay tuned for more :)

Silhouette Love

It is hard for me to believe that a year has almost gone by and my first year on the DT with Silhouette is coming close to an end!!! If you have been a follow/reader of my blog, you will know how much I love my Silhouette Cameo ;)

Anyways, I created this project using lots of "love" from the Silhouette design store. I seem to hoard word/phrase design shapes in my folder and decided to use a lot of "love"ly ones on this page.

I cut out several of the words in different patterned paper and from Silhouette adhesive backed cardstock and went from there, piecing them together. I did add on some stitching to the red cardstock for something different.

Once I was all done, I kept the rest of the page simple with a photo, some vellum circles stitched over the blue doily pattern and a quick journaling card from my stash.

I am off to work on a project for the Bella Blvd blog! Happy scrapping :)

Another Silhouette Tutorial !

Good morning!! First off, just want to say a big thank you for those that leave me comments - good or bad, I appreciate them! It keeps me blogging :)

I am here today to share a page I made using my Silhouette and a tutorial I did for the Silhouette America blog last week.

I posted a page last month using an intricate design and it was filled with lots of little bits of patterned paper - got a few questions on it, so thought Iwould do a quick tutorial for the blog on how to do that quite easily with your Silhouette!

The tutorial is on a simple and repetitive design. One where you can see the repetitive pattern. The same process would apploy for busier patterns but just a little more complicated :)

I added in some glittered double sided adhesive to some of the joining parts, and atop some Silhouette gold foil for my title.

Silhouette Free Shape!

Good morning! Valentine's Day is right around the corner... have you had to make or will you be making any Valentine's for your significant other??

I was up on the Silhouette America blog last week with a simple card, using the free shape of the week. Here is what I came up with:

The shape came with a base heart and 2 swinging covers, and I chose to weld it all together to make a flip open style card!

I also diecut a sentiment in a different patterned paper and added it to the inside of the card for the recipient to see when they receive the card!

Silhouette - You have my whole heart

Hello! I had a new layout hit the Silhouette America blog and wanted to share it with you today! It's a fun and easy one for sure. I think once my designs were cut out, the page came together in less than an hour - which is quite fast for me!

I started by cutting out some doily shapes from some Silhouette Adhesive Backed cardstock. I used "warm gray" for this page. It is a cream color IRL.

I layered the different sized doilies over simple white cardstock on the right side of my page and then added color through my diecut title and some simple strips of paper on the left side of the page. I used the offset feature in the Silhouette software and printed my offset title onto patterned paper. I cut a print/cut design from the Silhouette store onto black adhesive cardstock and it simply stuck over the patterned paper shapes!

 

I love it when a page comes together so quickly and easily with the help of just a few simple products :) So, I want to know - are you a fast or slow scrapper?? What helps you get a project done quickly?

PageMaps U Class 3!!

February is right around the corner and for me that means a few exciting things!

One of those things is that I am an educator over at PageMaps U again for Class 3 that goes up in February! I was part of Class One and Two and am super happy to be back for Class 3 :)

This class uses the Pink Paislee Bella Rouge collection and is so sweet and lovely!

Amazing Friend - Silhouette

Last week, I had a quick tutorial over on the Silhouette America blog - on how to make your own project page cards for pocket scrapbooking or whatever really! I don't do PL spreads so I used my cards on a scrapbook page.

I started with a couple basic designs from the Silhouette store and then created a quick card using my shape tool. You can virtually use any shape and create the card by adding a circle, square or rectangle around it and weld! I love how the title looks cut into the card shape.

I stepped out of my comfort zone a little and added some diecut flowers from Silhouette design shapes too. I don't often use flowers in this way, but they really are just so easy to cut out and piece together with some dimensional adhesive! Just add an enamel dot or brad to the center and you are good to go!
