December Hip Kits!

Good Morning and welcome to the weekend!!! I am sharing one last page using the December Hip Kits and all that pretty Crate Paper, Seven Paper and Heidi Swapp embellishments!

I love the frames in the kit and decided to trim one from the sheet of patterned paper in the kit and add a little watercoloring to it for my title on my page. So easy and fun to do too!

The frames are a simple way to layer your kit items as well. I tucked some patterned paper behind this frame and layered the whole thing over some tags and diecuts and even added a chipboard little sentiment to the corner. Super easy.

Well that is it for me ! I will be spending part of my day playing with the January Hip Kits that arrived on my doorstep on Thursday! I can't wait :) Enjoy your weekend!

World Cardmaking Day !

It's world card making day! I have a card up on the Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine blog using one of the sketches from the new Creative Cards issue!

I used one of the bonus sketches in the back of the issue:

... and this is what I came up with!  I used a mix of different patterned papers from a Heidi Swapp paper pad, a stamped sentiment and some glitter foam alphas.

I really need to use all those Thickers I have kicking around and they are great for cards!

Stop by the blog HERE. and you could win a fantastic prize from Fancy Pants, Lawn Fawn and Close To My Heart

July Hip Kit Club projects!

You would think having a few weeks off work would allow me extra time to do thing like planning and blogging etc... but it did not! I am back at work now and thought I should catch up on the old blog :)

I created this project for Hip Kit Club using the July kits - main and color kit to be specific! I love this color add on for July and decided to test out my not so artsy side ! lol

I stamped my cardstock base with the Heidi Swapp stamp in the color add on and then added some distress ink (also from the add on) to my ink block. I dropped a few drop of water and then "splatted" it over the stamped images. I did change up the colors with some other distress inks in my stash.

There are a lot of great alphas in each monthly kits, but this month, I love the foam thickers the best... I combined a couple together for the title on this page.

Here is how it all came together! I kind of like it :)

To check out more about Hip Kits, please stop by their site! September kits were just revealed on the 15th so shop now!

Cocoa Daisy - Weathervane!

Last night was reveal over at Cocoa Daisy - our November kit - Weathervane went live for subscribers! I know I say it every month... but this one is so great, you have to head over and snag it if you can! Kits go on sale Nov.1 if you are not a subscriber.

Here are the first couple pages I created with this kit and 2 of the addons (Here & There and Windchime) I made 4 layouts with the kits, and could probably do at least 5 more pages, if not more.

I love the Heidi Swapp September Skies line in the kits.. I love this bright happy green and knew I wanted to cut a large title from it right away. You can see that there are some great autumn embellies in the kit and I cut some leaves by hand, out of the silver vellum in the kit to layer behind some of the cork and metal leaves..

I also found that, although there were some great navy and green papers, there were so many fun floral and "pretty" papers in this month's kits that I created this feminine page of my daughter and her love of being in dance.

Just love those Heidi Swapp transparent and die cut shapes. They are really amazing and the clear words are just perfect for layering!

Hope you enjoyed these projects - and hope you stop by to get your kit (if you haven't already)! Please let me know what you think of my projects, I appreciate your feedback!

Scrapbook & Cards + another cut freebie!

It's time for another free Cameo cut file over on the Scrapbook & Cards Today blog!

Here is what this month's freebie looks like:

and here is what I made with it!

I have been seeing a lot of outlined alphas out there lately - and so that was the starting point for this page. That plus I used a lot of fun Heidi Swapp papers and these new dies from my talented friend Laina Lamb and My Favorite Things:

These were perfect for this travel page!

Here are a few closeups of some of the diecut and stamped images from Laina's line:

I'll be back with a few more projects using these dies and stamps! If you want to download the outline alpha for free - just click HERE

Enjoy!!

Scraptastic kit old/new

here today to share another page made with the January kit from Scraptastic Kit Club!
This month, I had the Days of Our Lives kit :)

Each month, we have a theme - this month, it was to use some of our stash !
I chose to haul out my stash of previous Scraptastic Kits to make this page.
I used the November 2012(When Skies are Grey) and December 2012 (All the Lights) kits in addition to my January 2013 Days of Our Lives kit. I pulled out the Dear Lizzy gold seal stickers I had stashed away, and a sticker tag from the same sheet to use here:
And I also used up some stars I had cut from the November kit cardstock and just didn't use them. The colour works perfectly with the gold stripe/polka dot Simple Stories paper in the Jan. kit! Love that.
I did the same with some arrow shapes I cut from the grey cardstock in the Nov. kit too, as well as some of the Pink Paislee tags and Heidi Swapp paper in the same kit!
I added the Big City tag from the All the Lights kit for my title! I love that youcan stretch your kits to work with others- it's always great to have good staple pieces that you can always use :)

Away we go!

I had some time to play with the new Echo Park collection - Everyday Eclectic and I was in love! I love the colour combo and the fun hot air balloons, clouds and the white on kraft!

here is a page I created using some stuff from my stash!
I just love the sentiment stickers on the sheet... and added one to a Heidi Swapp polaroid frame I had! Love the polaroid idea for framing out Instagram photos.
I couldn't resist adding some Studio Calico wooden words. they are SO CUTE!!! I love the little arrows and camera stickers too on the sticker sheet. I have a problem with stickers.. a hoarding problem.

and how cute is that flair from Marcy Penner's shoppe! Love it!

Here's a sneak peek of a project I will share with you tomorrow!!!
