Jillibean Soup cards - Day 2 Day collection

Did you know that Jillibean Soup has come out with a new planner collection! Yup, it's true - it's called Day 2 Day! Now, if you are like me and not a planner person. ie. use a planner but don't "decorate it", then you try to find ways to use these items in other ways right?

Well, I created these 2 cards using some items from the Day 2 Day collection along with some other items by Jillibean Soup.

Check out those awesome clear stickers. Great for planners yes - but also great for card sentiments and to add to layouts too.

For this card, I used a lot of the Day 2 Day planner stickers as the "paper" for the card front, adding foam adhesive in behind each sticker to add a little dimension.

Hello, hello! I am stopping in to share a holiday card I made for the Jillibean Soup blog this month. I love the new Shape Shaker program and wanted to use one of the shaker cards for the center of the wreath on my card front.

I die cut a whole ton of holly leaves on my Silhouette Cameo and arranged them around the large open circle area. I did place the shaker insert in place (not glued), so that I could see where the leaves needed to stop so they didn't rub up too much on the plastic insert.

I added some Jillibean Soup adhesive sequins and some punched circles for holly berries and then stitched the whole thing together, adding in some wood sprinkles to the inside of the shaker insert at the end to fill the center in a fun way!

I added my sentiment by using a clear stamp set by Jillibean Soup made especially for the Shape Shaker program! I think it's pretty festive, don't you?

Simple Joy

Good morning! I am stopping in to share a card I made for the Jillibean Soup blog this month in less than 5 minutes! Yep, I am telling you the truth - you can do this in 5 minutes!

I started off with some small scraps of Holly Berry Borscht paper from my Jillibean Soup stash to make my hand cut letters. On the back of the papers, I drew out the letters and then made them into bubble letters, but drawing around the letters around 1/8" in pencil. All that was left to do was to cut those letters out and finish off the rest of the card.

I used one of the Jillibean Soup Shape Shaker cards for my base - this one is the small circle. I used the circle as the O in my card, as you can see. I filled the shaker with a mixture of gold sequins from the Shape Shaker program and then added some mini gold stamped stars and a sentiment, using clear stamps from Jillibean Soup.

I added those hand cut letters with some foam adhesive and all done! It really was a super quick project and this is one you could replicate quite easily, and use up all those scraps you hoard!

SCT August freebie time!

It's that time of the month again - time for another cut file freebie on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog! 

Here is this month's freebie:

I decided to use this freebie to create a few simple cards using some Life in Color by Simple Stories. I diecut the sentiment for this card with the freebie.

I added in a label and some small alpha stickers to complete my sentiment on the card. I love how you can mix digital die cut designs with pre-made designs to make something look like it was meant to be together!

For this card, I used the cut file as a layer on my card. I cut it from vellum so the effect is quite subtle.

Something as simple as a swirl can add an easy layer to any project like this card here!

October Hip Kits - Cards!

HELLO HELLO! Today is my posting day over on the Hip Kit Club blog and I am sharing a few really easy peasy cards using the October kits.

The October kits have these really pretty frame/diecuts in the Pebbles Inc. pack. A great mixture of different types of frames with smaller diecut images. I chose a few different frames and went to town to make these cards.

The scallop frames look so nice all layered and stitched over the larger 4" frames. I love this sentiment that I clipped down from a sheet of Pebbles Inc. paper that was in the kit.

Super simple, but turned out cute

I used a scrap of a frame that I used on a layout last week for this card, turning the card sideways and adding a little twine from my stash.

I added the thanks sentiments from some diecut words in the Pebbles Inc. package, along with some Pink Paislee puffy flower stickers.

Lastly, I used the gold frame for this card, along with a smaller cream/white frame all stitched together with another cut apart from that Pebbles Inc. paper, layered with a Thinking Of You diecut pennant sentiment. Super easy!

JustNick cards + process video!

Hello hello! I created a few cards on World Cardmaking day and forgot to share them! I used a couple different cut files from my digital cut file store - JustNick and thought I would share them with you today!

This first card is really quite simple - I cut the sentiment from the Card Sentiments 1 cut file and used my watercolour paints to do an ombre type technique to the plain white cardstock.

I love the interesting look the watercolours give to a plain sheet of cardstock! So cheap and easy too :)

For this card, I used the Card Sentiments 2 - I love the circular look for titles and thought that it would be fun to use as sentiments on cards... so I created this one, again adding lots of watercolour paints to the title as well as the feathers from the Sweater Weather cut file.

I really love how this card came out - the embossing on the feathers is a great textural touch and looks great combined with the watercolour paints!

Silhouette - easy layered holiday card

Good morning !

Let's face it, the holidays are just around the corner, and if you are anything like me, you wait too long to get to making your holiday cards.  I really love giving hand made cards, but often the do take a lot of time!

Not anymore. I found this pretty design from the Silhouette Design Store and went from there. It was really quite easy using my Cameo and some Silhouette Adhesive Cardstock.

As you can see, I cut the designs for my card out of Adhesive White Cardstock to take lots of the work out of the equation! I also cut the trees from green adhesive cardstock, and the cover for the card out of Silhouette Vellum! This added a nice sheen to the front of the card.

From there, it is all just layering. I cut a patterned background paper and then layered the snow scape and trees on top of each other. I added the vellum to the back of the frame portion of the card and then added some stitching detail to the whole card.

 I added some sequins to a few of the holes in the vellum to add a little sparkle to the front of the card.

I added a quick and easy sentiment by cutting the Peace title out of red patterned paper and adhered to the front of the card when it was all put together. 

A few layered vellum snowflakes finish the card off quickly!

This card would be quite easy to make very quickly, just cut out multiple designs out of a few different papers and assemble! Easy and quick.

Jillibean Soup - cards!

Just stopping by quickly today to share with you a couple cards I made for the summer paper show for Jillibean Soup using their new Soup Staples III line - which is AMAZING!!!!

This card was made with a lot of scraps along with the new kraft tags and phrase cards! I think they are perfect cards for a card sentiment!

The new kraft tags are so great, they come in a few different shapes (circle, tag and triangle). Here I used more of the tag shape with a "hello" on it! Perfect for cards!

I added in a stamped sentiment and a wood sprinkle - a new addiction!! I hope Jillibean Soup keeps these around!

you can see a mini clothespin here  that I covered with the new kraft paper tape (polka dot). the clothespin is from the new Halloween line - and I am a clothespin addict :)

Hey You!

Yes YOU :) I have a quick card up on the Jillibean Soup blog today that was super easy to make. It's full of Spicy Social Soup too! A super fun, techy/social media inspired line.

I started the card with this pre-printed frame and then set to embellishing it with lots of diecuts, punched circles and wood sprinkles.

I love the smaller Alphabean letters for card sentiments - they really are just the perfect size and in this case, fit perfectly over the Stampable chalkboard pennant tag.

That's it for me today! I am happy to be having a nice long weekend...Canada Day is tomorrow, and so I am off then too!

Jillibean Soup - Friends Forever

Just quickly popping in to share a simple card I made for the Jillibean Soup blog this week! I am a mission to use up tons of my scraps in my Jillibean Soup container and this card was perfect for that.


I had a scrap of a white chevron placemat left over and it fit perfectly on the one side of my card, along with a few small strips of patterned paper to cover the front.

I added in a stitched piechart and punched out a heart from a scrap of Spicy Social Soup patterned paper. I added this to the card, along with a few of the wooden Stampables embellishments and some epoxy dots from my stash

Jillibean Soup cards

Well, Christmas is just around the corner, and I thought I would share a couple cards I did for the Jillibean Soup blog this month that were really easy to do!

This card was inspired by those washi tape trees I have seen on Pinterest, but I used some strips of patterned paper instead, and a cute Jillibean Soup cut file (found in the Silhouette America store)

Next up is a card made using a few stickers and some punched circles of patterned paper! This was a little fiddly to get all the circles to line up nicely, but I like how it turned out!

I would like to know - do you make and send holiday cards on your own???  And, do people appreciate the hand made ones, if you do send them?

Jillibean Soup card - Hello Friend

Good morning!

Just sharing a super quick card made with a little Jillibean Soup scraps I had kicking around along with a die from Spellbinders and my trusty circle punches.

To make this card, I quite simply grabbed my scraps and my die and went to work. I cut a few of the Blossom flower shape and then added some 2" punched circles and stitched them together to create the flower:

It really doesn't take too much time or effort to make a cute card to send to a friend! Thanks for checking in with me today :) I added some additional stitching around each flower in a circle pattern and then went ahead to add my sentiment to the card, using a Wise Word and a pennant shape cut onto kraft cardstock.

Jillibean Soup card share

Good morning!

I am just quickly checking in today with a fun card that I made for the Jillibean Soup blog this month

This card started with a few basics - my scraps from other projects, some Pea Pod Parts (diecuts) and a flower die from Spellbinders. I layered a piece of a kraft coloured lattice Placemat from Jillibean over a grey background paper and then got to work with the flowers:

Using the Blossom die from Spellbinders, I cut a few different sized flowers and layered them over each other using dimensional adhesive and finally a button from Jillibean Soup to finish one off and a brad in the other.

I added in a few die cut pieces from the Cold Avocado Soup line and a wooden flag for my sentiment and voila! I love when you can use up some of your scraps to make a pretty card very easily!

Jillibean Soup - cards!

Just sharing a few quick cards I made for the Jillibean Soup blog this month!

I made this creature card in the spirit of Halloween. All total, seriously 15 mins to make this card, and I think he is so cute :)

 For this card, I used a combination of a few Jillibean Lines - Happy Camper, Fresh Vegetable Soup and some new Christmas Cheer too!

 I love the colour combo - all pulled together with a thin striped paper!! How easy is that :)

World Card Making Day!!!

It's right around the corner - October 5 for those that do not know.... I have been a card making mad woman this past weekend!
